Madonna’s posts come hours after the singer blasted Instagram for removing her photos, which showed her posing on a bed and wearing black lingerie and fishnets with a heart emoji to cover her left breast.

She had previously shared the photos to her account on Wednesday without the emoji, but explained in her Thanksgiving post that the company took them down due to violations regarding her nipple.

“It’s still amazing to me that we live in a culture that allows every inch of a woman’s body to be shown except for a nipple. Like that’s the only part of a woman’s anatomy. woman who could be sexualized. The nipple that feeds the baby!” she wrote in her post. “Can’t a man’s nipple be experienced as erotic??!! And what about a woman’s ass that is never censored anywhere. Thank you for managing to maintain my mental health during four decades of censorship……sexism……ageism and misogyny.”

Aiming for the Thanksgiving holiday, the singer added, “Perfectly in sync with the lies we were led to believe about Pilgrims peacefully breaking bread with Native Americans when they landed at Plymouth Rock! God bless America. 🇺🇸♥️❌ #artistsareheretodisturbthepeace.”

In 2017, Madonna gave fans a rare glimpse into her personal and family life for a PEOPLE cover story, months after welcoming her two youngest via adoption from Malawi.

“It’s inexplicable,” she said at the time of what drew her to her children. “It’s like saying, ‘Why do you fall in love with the people you fall in love with?’ You look someone in the eye, you feel their soul, you feel touched by them, that’s all.”

“Sometimes I’d close my eyes and think, ‘Why isn’t my kitchen full of dancing kids?’ There are so many children who need a home,” she recalled at the time. “I was like, ‘What am I waiting for? Do it.’ “

The pop legend also opened up about how her older children adjusted to their extended family at the time. “There may have been [a feeling of], “Oh, we have to share you with more people” – not jealousy, but an adjustment,” Madonna said at the time. “Eventually everyone was supportive. Lola said, ‘Mom, if this is what you want and it makes you happy, let’s go.’ “
