Opening of primary care at the new Cleveland Clinic in Lorain; Amherst Family Health expands its services

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio – A new primary care clinic in Lorain has started seeing patients, and a family health center in Amherst now offers services to cancer patients.

El Centro Cleveland Clinic Outpatient Center

The new primary care clinic is housed within the social services agency Lorain El Centro de Servicios Sociales Inc. The Cleveland Clinic’s bilingual providers are on site.

The clinic’s health staff will provide annual adult wellness exams, health screenings, women’s health services, chronic disease management and acute care, including treatment for:

Symptoms of colds, coughs and flu and other viral infections

Conjunctivitis (pink eye)

· Earache

Insect bites and stings

Minor aches and pains (without serious injury)

Minor injuries: sprains, strains, minor joint pain

Sinus complaints

Skin lesions not requiring suturing

· Rashes

· Sore throat

Urinary tract complaints

Amherst Family Health Center expands to treat cancer patients

The Cleveland Clinic Amherst Family Health Center has expanded its services so area cancer patients can access treatment closer to home.

Expanded services include 12 private and semi-private infusion bays, procedure room for biopsies and testing, enhanced retail pharmacy, patient support services, financial navigator and access to clinical trials.

According to a Cleveland Clinic press release, “Patients can expect the most advanced cancer care and expertise from Cleveland Clinic oncology care providers.”
